Romance in Gozo

Romance in Gozo is lived throughout the year but takes a boost in February for Saint Valentine’s Day.

The lover’s day is celebrated by adolescents and mature ones alike. Chocolates are shared, and people like to give roses to each other. Decorations are assembled along the main streets of the island with heart symbols and romantic phrases.

The Villa Rundle , Gozo’s largest public garden is transformed into a romantic heaven. One will find plenty of decorations, like for example photo stands, and fairy lights along the wooden bridge located in the center of the garden.

The loving spring continues during the warm summer months with plenty of water activity at the sea side. This includes romantic walks along the sandy red shores of Ramla Beach. I myself, also like to visit the Citadel by night and walk along the fortified walls by the light of a full moon.

Spending a couple of hours at a secluded beach away from the crowd is delightful.

You can also visit San Blass beach known by the locals as the nudist beach.

For the big celebration, Gozo is a chosen romantic destination for coastal weddings. With clear crystal water all around, you just need to pick your favorite spot where you would like to exchange your vows.
