Hobza is the most popular and most purchased type of bread on the Maltese archipelago. With a very hard crunchy exterior and a soft interior it is easily paired with most meat dishes. 

This rectangular shaped bread is bought often especially to prepare sandwiches. Being heavier than the regular bread you find in groceries, it is used to prepare lunches.
