The languages in use are Maltese and English. The Maltese language is the language that has been inherited through generations for hundred of years. It is a semitic language, which originates from Arabic, and it is quite difficult to pronounce.

Some knowledge of the English language will surely be helpful. This will definitely make your holiday easier, especially if you like to meet up with some locals. The English and Italian languages are well practiced on Gozo. However, other languages like French or German are hardly known. Very few people have basic knowledge of them.
