Lampuki is a local fish. As it is a seasonal fish you will find it available from restaurants from mid August until December. 

This particular fish is quite good and very popular among the locals. Different cooking methods can be used, like frying, oven baked, or braised in red sauce. Nowadays, it is common that the fish is accompanied by fresh vegetable salad, and french fries. 

The fish keeps on growing throughout the fishing season. Hence, in the end of the fishing period, due to its grown size, the fish is preferred to be prepared as a pie. Although most restaurants do not offer lampuki pie, this can be enjoyed from some of the local bakeries
