How to get to Gozo

Your journey will start from Malta International Airport. The airport service is excellent and you will find good links to travel directly to Gozo.
Public Transport
Bus route X1 will be waiting for your as you exit the airport terminal. Although it is a slow means of transport, it is efficient and low cost. The route takes about 70 minutes and goes round through various villages until finally arrives at Cirkewwa ferry terminal. From there you have to board the Gozo Channel ferry to Gozo.
Various types of taxis will also be waiting at the arrivals terminal. For a white taxi you just need to get their attention and jump in the car. Others, can be booked via your smartphone. The ride takes about 30-40 minutes. It is a fast and effective service which gives you more time to start enjoying your holiday.
Pre-book a rental scooter or car and pick it up at the airport. Although driving is done on the left hand side, it is something you will get used to quickly. Be adventurous and travel at your own pace. A full coverage insurance is recommended in case the unlikely happens. Driving on Gozo is pretty easy as the roads are not busy.

Any option you take is fine and all end at Cirkewwa ferry terminal. From there, you do not need a ticket for the ferry. Also, the ferry service keeps on going throughout the night.

The crossing will take 25 minutes. Along the cruise you can enjoy the views of the southern coast of Comino, caves, and the Blue Lagoon. As soon as the ferry approaches Gozo I suggest you climb to the upper deck of the ferry for breathtaking views of the Gozo marine, traditional Maltese boats, and the Chapel of Our lady of Lourdes.
