How to get around Gozo

Going around Gozo should be the least of your problems. The island is pretty small in size and travelling from one place to another will not take much of your time. Also, Gozo still enjoys vast countryside. So, while travelling you get to enjoy the nice scenery.

Walking

Walking is enjoyable. On certain parts of Gozo you can walk from one beach to another in less than 30 minutes. Same thing applies from your accommodation to the nearest beach. Once you leave the village center, you will walk through countryside paths until arriving to your destination.

Bus

Using the public transport is an option if your destination is further away. This is mostly considered during the summer months. The air would be hot and humid and it is not ideal to walk long distances.

Busses serve a lot of popular destinations so you will definitely enjoy the top attractions of Gozo. The service is pretty affordable. You can also buy weekly tickets or bundles at discounted prices. Most buses have air conditioning and wifi connection. It is wise to keep in mind that buses move slowly and go round in circular routes. During the peak hours, the bus might be already full when it arrives at your stop, so you would need to wait for the next one. For those that prioritize time, other transportation options may be ideal!!

Taxis are numerous and you will always find one available in frequently crowded places. The service is perfect as your experienced chauffeur will take you to your destination via the fastest route.

You do not have to look for parking places, so just sit and enjoy the ride. The drivers are pretty helpful and full of tips. They can also help you to plan in visiting multiple places in a short period of time.

Rental

Grab a rental and explore the island at your own pace. This option is slightly more expensive than the public transport. However, it is worth every penny as you will move at your own pace and have total flexibility.
