Dwejra Inland Sea

The inland sea is like a large pond over recessed grounds. The water comes in from an opening in the cliff. What was once a small crack in the rock, gave way to a passage way where now even boats can pass through.

The water is very shallow and children like to play throwing pebbles. At days, the water can be slightly murky due to boat traffic shifting the sediment.

Many boathouses are present in the area. Once, these used to provide shelter for the fishermen’s equipment. Today they are used for a short holiday by the owners.
