Concerts in Gozo

Across Gozo, one can find various forms of entertainment, one of which is concerts. These concerts range in form and genre, ranging from performances for the open public to attend, to other concerts which need to be booked in advance or even buy tickets for. Even the places where such concerts are performed range from theatres to open spaces such as village centres and anything in between.

In summer, concerts will be more frequent since people tend to go out more than in other seasons. Each village has a set of concerts throughout the summer, which would be held in the pjazza, to serve as entertainment for the public as well as a promotion and opportunity for local bands and artists.

Apart from these set of concerts, village bands also organise special concerts during their village’s festa week. There is also the Victoria International Arts Festival (VIAF), which kicks off in mid-June till mid-July, with 5 weeks of daily concerts of high level with performers from around the globe. https://viaf.org.mt/

Along the year, there would be other concerts such as in Easter time (during lent) with concerts of sacred music held mostly in churches. During the Christmas time, one can indulge in a variety of concerts with Christmas music held in various places around the island, such as in churches or other public places.
