Blue Hole

a blue hole in Gozo, with a window rock formation next to it

The Blue Hole is one of the most popular diving sites on Gozo. You will always encounter other divers and swimmers entering or exiting the water.

The site is reached by walking a difficult path. The path stops abruptly and you will find the Blue Hole in front of you. The large hole is 15 meters deep. Carved through the centuries by waves, you will see a submerged archway that leads you to the open sea.

Out from the hole, and into the infinity of the open sea, you will notice the steep slope of the sea floor leading to dark depths. Finishing the dive you can explore the cave at the back of the Blue Hole which has some fish and marine flora.
