Qassatat

The qassatat are a local snack which you will find from bakeries and cafeterias. This snack is enjoyed at lunch and is a filling food item. 

The traditional qassatat is filled solely with local cheese. However, you will also find ones which are filled with peas. In recent years, qassatat with sardines and onions have also been introduced. 

The dough used to make the qassatat is quite thick and heavy. You may also find small qassatat which are usually enjoyed for breakfast.
