Money Saving Tips

Some people think that to holiday is a burden on your bank account. However, enjoying yourself should not bust your pockets. The Maltese islands are quite affordable, and prices on the island of Gozo are cheaper than from the main island.

Following are just a few tips to consider while visiting Gozo to save some money

Public bus

Using the public transport rather than opting for a taxi will save your plenty of petty cash. Although the service is slow, it is quite reliable on Gozo. Also, if you intend to use the busses frequently you can benefit from even lower fares when buying a bundle or a weekly pass.

If the next destination is quite near, you may walk your way. Gozo is pretty small and everything is close by. Sometimes it is more convenient to walk rather than finding a bus stop and wait for the bus to arrive.

Visiting the archaeological sites

Gozo hosts a number of museums, old windmills, and archaeological sites. These include the Ggantija Temple, one of the oldest religious constructions on the planet. As most people like to visit these locations, you can benefit from lower entry fees if you get a multi-pass. That way you can visit different places with one ticket.

Food and Beveragies

For the basic necessities like food and drinks, one can plan before heading out for your day. Buy your needs from a local grocery to have them at a cheaper price rather than stopping at a fancy restaurant for lunch. Also, a number of food kiosks are found along the main roads. These provide cheap fast meals, for those who prefer to buy something for lunch or dinner, and not cook their own food. The service is usually very good.
