Mgarr ix-Xini

Mgarr ix-Xini is a valley beach facing South. The slightly winding valley walls provide a picturesque scene for the visitors.

The once tranquil bay, has turned to a famous spot especially in the late afternoon and evening. Locals love to swim in the clear water. Some take a packed lunch with them, while others dine at the food kiosk opposite the shore.

The shallow waters are ideal for the young children to swim and improve their abilities in the open sea. Further out, the sea bottom slides deeper, providing an excellent diving opportunity for the beginners. I myself fancy diving here, where I enjoy visiting the submerged caves in the hill which provide shelter for delicate marine life like sea horses.
